McMURRAY – Chris Cox watched from his position at first base Tuesday as California teammate Zack Jeney fired a four-hit shutout against Fort Cherry in the Trojans’ WPIAL first-round playoff victory.
So, he knew exactly what he had to do when it was his turn to take the mound Thursday in a quarterfinal contest against Rochester at Peterswood Park.
He had to hold up his end of the deal.
Cox more than held up his end of the deal as he tossed a two-hitter in the Trojans’ 4-0 win.
