Jay Davis, 65, of Monongahela, died Monday, May 11, 2020, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 8, 1955, in Sunnyside, the son of the late Elgin and Bernice Gori Davis. Jay was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Class of 1973. He retired from U.S. Steel’s Clairton Works after 30 years of employment and was a member of the Arroas Haymakers Association 258 1/2 in New Eagle. Jay enjoyed being with family, hanging out with his friends, had a passion for classic cars and old westerns, and loved being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his daughter, Nickol Ceravolo and husband Justin of Long Island, N.Y.; three brothers and a sister, Gary Davis and wife Mary Ann of Monongahela, Robin Monaghan and husband Jack of Coatesville, Kim Davis and wife Nadine of Belle Vernon and Brad Davis of Waltersburg; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra McChesney Davis who died Jan. 4, 2016. A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Interment will take place in Monongahela Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
