Strom inks four in recruiting class

After welcoming five new freshman into last year’s Cal U women’s basketball team, head coach Jess Strom and the Vulcans will welcome four more into the fold next season after announcing the 2020 recruiting class.

The Vulcans finished last season 21-9 overall and earned a sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

This year’s class features two recruits from Pennsylvania, one from New Jersey and one from Ohio.

“I”m really looking forward to getting this incoming class on campus and getting to work. They all bring something a little different to the team, but share the intensity and the way they play the game with maximum effort and heart,” said Strom. “They are special young people who work hard in the classroom and I”m confident they will represent Cal U and our program in the most positive way.”

The gem of the class could be 6-1 forward Dejah Terrell, a transfer from Division III Albright. In her second season there, Terrell averaged 21.7 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game.

“Dejah is a gifted athlete that brings us some length in the post position. She can play inside and outside with the ability to run the floor in transition, finish strong at the rim and also step out and shoot the three,” Strom said. “Dejah will fit into our defensive system right away and be a mismatch problem on the offensive end. I’m excited to see her grow and develop over the next two seasons.”
