A portion of state Route 837 in Allegheny County between McClure Street in Dravosburg and the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge is closed for the second time in less than a month as a result of landslides.
West Mifflin Police Department announced Monday morning that the road was closed in both directions after a landslide brought dirt, rocks and small trees crashing onto the road, blocking one lane of traffic.
PennDOT crews were cleaning up debris and geotechnical engineers have been dispatched to determine if and when the road can safely be reopened, according to a statement from PennDOT District 11.
“It is unknown how long the road will be closed,” West Mifflin police said in a Facebook post.
