Florence S. ‘Herk’ Dermont – Bunola

Florence S. “Herk” Dermont, 83, of Bunola, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in McKeesport on Dec. 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Morgavich Mihalek. She was employed for 45 years with U.S. Steel, finishing her career as a transportation supervisor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Bruce Jr.; one daughter, Christina Dermont Nagy; and one brother, Martin “Bud” Mihalek Jr. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, John Dermont; one daughter, Lori (Mike) Pozzuto of Florida; two sons, Justin (Stephenie) Dermont of Monongahela, and Jonathan Dermont and (fiancée Amanda Macfarlane) of Perryopolis; eight grandchildren, Jeanna, Keith, Logan, Brianna, Zachary, Preston, Owen and Connor; one great-grandchild, Dakota; a brother, Tom Mihalek of Florida; one sister, Margie (Justin) Wilson of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews. Our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother deserves a beautiful tribute.
