Thelma Naylor Elkins, 85, formerly of Streetsboro, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Born in Fellsburg on Jan. 19, 1935, she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Eleanor Greenwood Naylor. Thelma was a telephone operator, homemaker and a waitress at Lawson’s, Rusty Nail and Pufferbelly restaurants. She was active in PTA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Fells Methodist Church in Rostraver Township and United Methodist Church of Streetsboro, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. After retiring, Thelma enjoyed her Rostraver classmates, traveling, family, her schnauzers and mostly being “Gram.” Thelma is survived by her devoted daughters, Cynthia Elkins-Vansil of Stow, Ohio, and Pamela Elkins-Watson of Akron, Ohio; her grandsons, Matthew (Holly)Vansil, Jarrod Vansil, Brandon Vansil and Ty (Jennica) Watson; granddaughters, Rachelle Elkins Tooley and Jacy Watson; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Renee Davis and Rhett Parker Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James (Cindy) William Elkins Jr.; her husband, James William Elkins Sr.; two brothers, Robert Naylor and Harold Naylor; and sister, Shirley Bowers. A private visitation will be held at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a live-streamed funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, with Pastor Zack Bohinski officiating. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either the American Heart Association, www.heart.org or to Pets In Need, www.petsinneed.org.
