Rams ready for ‘dogfight’ with Leps

Highlands head coach Tyler Stoczynski knows his top-seeded Rams can’t overlook sixth-seeded Belle Vernon Area when the two teams meet for the WPIAL Class 4A championship 1 p.m. today at the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center.

The Leopards have already upset third-seeded Quaker Valley in the quarterfinals, while also defeating No. 11 Derry (first round) and No. 7 New Castle (semifinals).

Quite simply, BVA hasn’t looked like an underdog.

And Stoczynski knows his team is in for a dogfight.

“We’re just trying to stay with what we do,” Stoczynski said. “We share the ball, we rebound and we play together. We’re just trying to control what we can control and let the chips fall where they may.”
