George D. Malaga Jr., 69, of Belle Vernon, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 in UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born in North Charleroi on May 15, 1950, a son of the late George Malaga and Sara Flora Malaga, who survives and resides in Belle Vernon. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, the Pricedale Russian Club, the Monessen French Club Golf League and was a past President of the Belle Vernon Musical Society. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, George was an avid sports fan for all of the Pittsburgh professional teams, loved golfing and gardening, and retired from the former Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 25 years, Cynthia Nesti Malaga; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Bill Robinson of Havertown; four grandchildren, Billy Robinson, Sean Robinson, Stephanie Robinson and Samantha Robinson; a sister, Patricia Malaga Youngerman of Jeannette; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam Nesti and Robert Kostella; two nieces, Bethany Rayman and Melissa Susanek; and a nephew, Jason Youngerman. Friends will be received from 10 to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A blessing service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
