Tigers capture slim win over Warriors

Some late match heroics gave McKeesport a 39-33 win over Elizabeth Forward Saturday.
Ethan Cain won a 2-1 overtime thriller over Bolivar Campusano at 182 pounds to give the Warriors a 27-15 advantage. The Tigers won the next four matches to take the dual.
Raymond Kennedy took a 9-5 decision at 195 pounds and Anthony Sayles picked up a fall at 220 for McKeesport (4-3) to start the comeback. Andy Mellinger (20-5) bumped up to heavyweight and earned a hard fought 3-2 decision over EF’s Nick Murphy (27-6). Cody Garanci then sealed the deal for the Tigers with a first period pin.
For McKeesport, Brady Willowchell added a fall at 120 pounds with Nolan Piotrowski winning a 6-3 decision at 152.
