Donald K. Kissler, 81, of Belle Vernon (Seldom Seen), passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2020, at Grand View Estates of Elizabeth. He was born Oct. 26, 1938, in Speers, a son of the late Albert and Gertrude Griffith Kissler. Donnie had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, where he worked as a backhoe operator. He served his country in the United States Army, serving with the Battery B, 2D Howitzer Battalion in Germany. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Confluence, and his passion was his Lionel trains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Anderson Kissler; and brother-in-law, James Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his dogs, Dutchess, Sassy, Grumpy, Pepsy and most recently, Gusty. Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Brian and Carrie Anderson, Caitlynn and Zachary Anderson, Jennifer Anderson and fiancé James Curnow, Laura and Robert Peckyno, and James and Leah Anderson; a sister-in-law, Debi Anderson; and cousins, Jack and Pat Jones, Dick and Susan Jones, Tim and Janet Hoffman, Tommy Hoffman, Stacey and Ben Opham, Karen and Ben Greenwood. The family would like to extend a “thank you” to the OSPTA Hospice Team, John, Amy aka Casey, Shelly, Britney aka “Britney Fix it all” and special caretaker, Laura. Also, the family would like to say “thank you” to Rev. Conrad Auel for his friendship. Visitation will be held at RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, with the Rev. Conrad Auel officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church of Monessen and OSPTA Hospice, 4325 SR 51, North Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
