Edward D. Tabish Sr., 93 of Carroll Township, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at Paramount Senior Living, Manassas, Va. Born in Donora, on March 9, 1926, he was a son of the late Joseph and Clara Zabzalka Tabish. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Donora. A World War II Veteran, Mr. Tabish served with the United States Army Company H 23rd Infantry Division. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal Germany and Czechoslovakia, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary T. Greco Tabish; and six siblings, John Tabish, Sammy Tabish, Jay Balent, Laura Dzvonyik, Estelle Trybuski and Helen Yakimyshin. He is survived by his son, Edward D. (Sue) Tabish Jr. of Centreville, Va.; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Alan and Mark; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Lisa and Colin; and one brother, Bernard (Dorthea) Tabish of Carroll Township.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where family and friends will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon at the Donora Campus of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 1 Park Road, Donora, PA 15033. Interment will follow Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. Full military rites will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
