Pleasant Hills: Garbage billing changes considered

By Mon Valley Independent

The borough of Pleasant Hills is considering changing its method of billing residents for trash collection, and residents may have a say in how the new billing method is handled.

The borough recently sent out an electronic survey regarding quarterly trash collection to residents who are signed up on the borough’s email list.

Currently, the borough uses a quarterly collection system, with residents being mailed a small, postcard-sized bill.

The bills are produced by borough employees, and mayor William Trimbath said the current system is time consuming.

“They have to print every card, cut them out, deliver them to the post office a certain way and track them when they come in,” he said. “It’s not as simple as it should be.”
