DA wants Taylor removed from MV Sewage Board

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office is looking to remove a Mon Valley Sewage Authority Board member convicted of defrauding a retired woman earlier this year.
Washington County District Attorney Gene Vittone and Deputy District Attorneys Jason Walsh and John P. Friedmann filed a petition seeking an injunction Thursday, claiming Yancey Taylor’s appointed seat on the board is a violation of the state’s Constitution.
According to Article II, Section 7, of the Constitution, anyone convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, perjury or other crime is not eligible to serve in public office.
The petition claims Taylor, of Donora, has refused to resign as a director for the Mon Valley Sewage Authority and the Borough of Donora has not taken action to remove him from the position.
