Dorothy I. Beresh – Carroll Township, formerly of Donora

Dorothy I. Beresh, 91, of Carroll Township, formerly of Donora, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, in the Residence at Hilltop, Carroll Township. Born in Donora on June 30, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Markinack Bainer. Dorothy was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora, its CANA Sodality and the Sacred Heart Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rafael L. Beresh, on Oct. 25, 2005; and a daughter in-law, Kristina Beresh. She is survived by six children, Mary Ann (Lonnie) Rudnisky of Amity, Rebecca (James) Pikor of Carroll Township, William (Mary Ann) Beresh of Donora, Raphael Beresh of Vancouver, Wash., Joseph (Michele) Beresh of Donora and Robert (Tammy) Beresh of Washington, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Sikorsky of Donora; and nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora 724-379-6900, where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Donora, with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora. A Parastas service will be held in the funeral home at 3:30 pm. Wednesday, Nov. 13.
