The Belle Vernon Area girls soccer team is in the WPIAL Class 3A semifinals for the second time in the program’s history.

But if the Leopards are going to reach the championship game for the first time ever, they are going to have to climb a formidable mountain.

Fifth-seeded BVA (16-3) will take on top-seeded Mars (16-0-1) 8 p.m. tonight at Canon-McMillan.

Not only are the Planets undefeated, but they won the WPIAL crown in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015 and finished as runners-up in each of the last two seasons.
