When it came time to pick an Eagle Scout project, Josh Corey wanted to make a difference in his community.
“I had been approached with another project. I live in Buena Vista, which is next to Blythedale. I walk and bike past this park every day of my life,” he said.
The teen decided that rehabilitation of the pavilion at Blythedale Park would be the best way his project could serve the community.
“I knew it would be something people would see and that would make a difference,” Corey said.
The pavilion had been in poor condition, he said, with rotting and missing wood.
“On one side of the pavillion, some of the boards and shingles were falling in,” Corey said.
