After suffering a 17-6 loss to rival IUP in the annual Coal Bowl last week, there were a lot of questions surrounding the California University football squad.

Can the offense produce? Can the defense make the impactful play? What will the PSAC West schedule present to the Vulcans for the remainder of the season?

Cal took a step in answering some of those questions with a solid 35-20 victory over Clarion University on Homecoming Saturday at Adamson Stadium.

“Our guys have done a good job all year of focusing on this week’s opponent and not worrying about what happened last week,” Cal coach Gary Dunn said. “We did our weights on Monday and our strength coach told me it was our best week of the season. I knew the guys would be ready today.”
