Clairton overcomes slow start to crush Imani Christian

Imani Christian looked like it might give Clairton a tough game Friday after driving to the Bears’ 1-yard line on its first possession.

But the Bears’ defense held and made life miserable for the Saints the rest of the night.

Clairton overcame a slow start and rolled to a 41-0 win at Neil C. Brown Stadium in Eastern Conference action.

Imani Christian (0-7, 0-5) drove 54 yards on that first possession, but mustered only a combined 28 yards the next five times it had the ball.

“I think it was just a lack of focus from us; we did not have the best week,” said Bears coach Wayne Wade. “I did not say much about it, because you want to see how they respond.”
