Ringgold boys, EF girls win Big South

Ringgold took the first three spots in the boys’ race to help lead the Rams to a Big South Conference championship in the meet held at Mingo Creek Park Thursday.

Lucas Pajak was first overall, crossing the line with a time of 16:37.8. Ethan Gamble was right behind him with a time of 17:27 and Ben Daerr was only six seconds behind.

Thomas Jefferson, Elizabeth Forward and Belle Vernon Area finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively in the team standings.

Belle Vernon Area’s Grace Henderson was the first to cross the finish line in the girls’ race, finishing at 20:33, nearly two minutes faster than second-place finisher Lydia Shaw of Thomas Jefferson.
