Fayee Keys Matthews – North Charleroi

Fayee Keys Matthews, 95, of North Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2019. She was a loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was born on April 4, 1924, in Scenery Hill, the daughter of the late James and Wilda (Patton) Keys. Fayee was a member of Calvary Bible Church in North Charleroi. She retired from the Monongahela Valley Hospital after a long career as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She also served as a Nurse Cadet during World War II. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Cecchett and husband David of Springfield, Va.; two sons, Edward R. Matthews Jr. and wife Louisa of McMurray, and Timothy Matthews and wife Katherine of Eldridge, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Katherine, Bradley, Ellen, Timothy, Eric, Elizabeth and Marcelle; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Amelia, Lucy Mae, Rosalie and Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Matthews Sr., whom she loved dearly. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mon Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mon Valley Nursing Association Annual Nursing Scholarship fund.
