Elizabeth borough is asking state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale to conduct an audit of its police and K-9 funds.
The motion requesting the audit was made at the borough’s Sept. 24 meeting with no further discussion or explanation other than Councilwoman Cindy Morris saying it was “as discussed in executive session.”
“The Department of the Auditor General has not yet received a formal request, so the office cannot comment at this time,” said Gary Miller, a spokesman for DePasquale.
The borough no longer has a K-9 program, and the activity in the K-9 fund was suspended at the end of June.
