Niko Apodiakos scored on a penalty kick with 13:27 left to give Belle Vernon Area the only goal it needed in a 1-0 victory over Ringgold in Section 3-3A play Saturday afternoon at Joe Montana Stadium.

The win gives the Leopards (10-0, 7-0) a season sweep of the Rams (6-5, 4-3). BVA has yet to trail a single minute through 10 games this season.

“This was a big win for us,” BVA head coach Rob Miele said. “These guys continue to find ways to get the job done and (Saturday) was no different. Our midfield was the difference as they completely took over the game from start to finish. Niko, (Daniel) Sassak and Maverick (Selvoski) were workhorses all day for us.”

Apodiakos’ go-ahead goal came after Hunter Meade was fouled in the box.
