Serra Catholic boys soccer coach Chad Bruns has become accustomed to watching his team earn shutout victories this season.
The Eagles’ three wins have all come in shutout fashion, including Tuesday ’s 5-0 triumph over St. Joseph in Section 2-A play.
In each of its wins, Serra (3-2-1, 2-2) has scored five or more goals while outscoring its opponents, 18-0.
“We set out a challenge to our guys. We’ve had some good games so far and then some games where we’ve been competitive but lost,” Bruns said. “We wanted to try and move ourselves up the rankings in the section and we feel like we did that.
“St. Joes played us very hard, but I think we’ve really been improving these last few weeks.”
