Tom Alper’s widow, Joyce, walked around the turf at Elizabeth Forward’s Warriors Stadium with tears in her eyes Tuesday. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.
The sixth annual Camp of Champions was held Tuesday, providing a positive impact on youth with disabilities by teaching football skills and emphasizing the importance of exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle.
The camp was started by former elementary physical education teacher, Tom Alper, who died in 2014, and EF Transition Coordinator Michael Huber.
Tom Alper worked at EF for 18 years. He created the camp to provide students with disabilities a chance to explore the sport of football and interact with their peers.
