Garden Club of McKeesport is seeking new members

The Garden Club of Mc-Keesport is looking for a few green thumbs.
The club, which maintains Pennsylvania’s second largest public rose garden, is actively seeking new members.
Founded in 1933, the club was created to bring a touch of natural beauty to what was then a gritty, industrial city.
In 1938, McKeesport’s city fathers deeded six acres of the city’s new Renziehausen Park to the Garden Club of McKeesport for the establishment of an arboretum and rosarium.
For the past 81 years, the “Renzie Rose Garden,” has been the pride of Mc-Keesport.
The garden’s romantic gazebo is a popular spot for summer weddings. The garden has attracted flower-loving tourists to the city from around the globe.
