Ed Woods has coached plenty of games at Bulldog Stadium over the last two decades.
But Friday night’s game was a little different, as he was coaching from the visitors’ sideline.
Woods, who compiled a 113-51 record at Beth-Center over 17 seasons, made his head coaching debut for California against his old team in Week 0 action, and it was a sweet homecoming.
The Trojans scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and outlasted the Bulldogs in a thrilling 32-27 victory.
