Elizabeth Forward students were slated to head back to school Thursday, but that’s not going to happen.
EF administrators and attorneys representing the district spent around two hours Tuesday afternoon negotiating with attorneys from PA Coach Lines inside of Allegheny County Judge Christine Ward’s chambers and in the hallways of the City-County Building in downtown Pittsburgh.
When they emerged from negotiations, attorneys on both sides announced that EF students will be heading back to school Monday and will be picked up and dropped off at their bus stops by PA Coach buses, under an order issued by Judge Ward.
Ward never entered the courtroom Tuesday, never officially called an injunction hearing to order and refused to allow her staff to provide journalists with a copy of the order. Her staffers told reporters they needed to obtain a copy from attorneys on either side.
