After two consecutive one-win seasons, the Yough boys soccer team is looking to make a big jump back into the playoffs. They last got there in 2016, head coach Chris Duda’s first year at the helm.
“This year our team looks to have a positive season,” said Duda. “Newer and younger players will need to step up. There are several freshman hoping to make an impact in this seasons lineup.”
Headlining that group of freshmen is striker Joseph Obeldoebel. With no returning starters up front, Obeldoebel will be a key component in the Cougars offense.
Senior captain Kameron Pritts is impressed with Obeldoebel.
“Joe provides a big boost to our offense,” Pritts said. “He’s a very dynamic player that has a knack for putting the ball in the back of the net.”
