‘On Your MARC’ race draws more than 100 participants

More than 100 people participated in the third annual Monongahela Area Revitalization Corporation 5K Run/Walk last Saturday.
This year’s “On Your MARC” race took place in the midst of the Monongahela 250th anniversary weekend and coincided with the 70th anniversary of Cox Market, which sponsors the race each year.
The 101 participants began and ended this year’s event at the aquatorium and meandered through the neighborhoods of Monongahela and New Eagle in between.
The youngest racer was 7 years old and the eldest was 72. Medals were awarded in eight age categories for runners and seven age categories for walkers.
Medals were also awarded to the three fastest male and female runners and walkers overall.
