NBV loses emergency management coordinator

A little more than two months into his role as Emergency Management Coordinator for North Belle Vernon, John Garber has resigned from the position due to personal reasons.

Council accepted his resignation during Tuesday’s meeting, with Jon Wasicek, Barbara Day, Paula Usher and Jack Curran voting yes and councilman Geoffrey DeWitt abstaining.

President Brett Berish and councilman Robert Sokol were absent.

Garber, who had previously served as deputy EMC, was appointed to the position in March, after former EMC Michael Parzynski was removed from the position in May.
