Brian C. Hayden, 39, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019. He was born in Monongahela on April 20, 1980, the son of Curtis F. Hayden Jr. and Cheryl Lynn Smith Hayden of Monessen. A 1998 graduate of Monessen High School, Brian went on to the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg as a talented athlete with a love for soccer, basketball and football. He was currently employed with United Health Care. Brian was very dedicated and a loyal friend to all who met him and had a big heart for helping others. He was a family oriented and compassionate man and was loved by so many. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Marie Large, on Dec. 13, 2018. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Daniel (Julie) Hayden; his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Sammy, Dillan and Melanie; two great-nieces, Ava and Emma; and one great-nephew, Nathan. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where family and friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. Services will be held in the funeral home at noon Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, with the Rev. Ken Barner, from Crossroads Ministries, Library Baptist Church, officiating.
