Marion T. Gazetsky Lipchey-Flowers – Monongahela

Marion T. Gazetsky Lipchey-Flowers, 98, of Monongahela, died Monday, July 22, 2019, in her home. Born July 25, 1920, in Monongahela, she was the daughter of Victor and Louise Kluse Gazetsky. During World War II, Marion moved to Harrisburg and worked in a munitions factory and then the Frankford Arsenal Plant in Philadelphia, where she also worked as a trolley driver before returning home after the war ended. In addition to being a homemaker, Marion worked at the former Anton Theater in Monongahela as a custodian. A member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Monongahela, Marion was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan and enjoyed gardening and tinkering with things around the house. Surviving are five nieces, Louise Phillips of Monongahela, Alana Gazetski of Drexel Hill, Francine Cekus, Margie Fedrick and Kathleen Baker; a nephew, Dennis and wife Karen Gazetsky of Monongahela; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. The last immediate member of her family, she was preceded in death by first husband, Mitchell Lipchey, who died in 1980; and her second husband, Andrew Flowers, who died in 2006; a brother, Joseph Gazetsky; and five sisters, Anna Vaira, Frances Fedrick, Louise Winters, Sophie Gazetsky and Margaret Mileo. Interment was held in Monongahela Cemetery. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, was in charge of the arrangements.
