The Mill Run baseball team struggled with Mitch’s Bail Bonds in their last few regular-season meetings in the Fayette County Baseball League. But in the playoffs, the Millers seemed to have Mitch’s number.

Mill Run followed up a 7-2 win in Thursday’s semifinal series opener with a 10-0 victory Friday to sweep the series and earn a spot in the best-of-five championship series.

The Millers used a six-run first inning to help them to the series-clinching win, with D.J. Farkas charting a two-run single and Nolan Porterfield and Brady Duricko each hitting an RBI single. Tanner Orndorff led off the big inning with a base hit as Mill Run batted around in its first trip to the plate.

“It’s the same story, different days. Yesterday, we’re down 7-0 before you know it, and today, we’re down six,”  Mitch’s acting manager Jason Greene said, adding that the Millers deserve credit for a well-played game. “They made every play, they took advantage of every freebie we gave them. They deserved to win.”
