Man accused of assaulting 2 Charleroi police officers

A Charleroi man is accused of aggravated assault after police were called to remove his children from their home due to unsafe conditions.
James S. Deshong, 53, of Prospect Avenue is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault and one count of resisting arrest.
Police were assisting Washington County Children Youth Services with a call in the 900 block of Prospect Avenue early Thursday morning to remove two children from their father’s residence.
The children were reportedly removed due to poor living conditions, an affidavit of probable cause states.
Deshong allegedly became agitated with police, claiming they were going to “kill his kids,” according to an affidavit.
