Naz Victoria has been waiting all summer to see Nick Seto take over a basketball game.
That wait came to a joyous end Thursday night as Seto’s double-double helped lead Campy’s Pizza to an 86-71 victory over Union Cleaners in the J. Budd Grebb Memorial Basketball League’s regular season finale at the Mechanic Street Playground in California.
Seto, who entered the game with 48 points in seven games this summer, poured in 17 of his team-high 26 points in the second half. He also added 10 rebounds in the win, which helped Campy’s claim the No. 1 seed heading into next week’s playoffs.
“That is the Nick Seto that I know and love,” Victoria said of the Brownsville senior, who averaged 17 points per game during his junior high school season. “He just goes hard, gets rebounds and puts in simple shots. I love it. He can do that and tonight he put it all together.”
