Charleroi man charged with assaulting a police officer

A Charleroi man is accused of assaulting a police officer following a domestic incident at his residence early Friday morning.

James Crusan, 43, of Fourth Street is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another person, escape, criminal attempt – institutional vandalism, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. 

Charleroi Regional Police were called to the 900 block of Fourth Street around 1:20 a.m. Friday for a domestic incident.

Crusan was sitting on the sidewalk visibly intoxicated when police arrived, an affidavit of probable cause states.
