John Bachinski Jr., 97, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. He was born on Jan. 20, 1922, in Monessen, the son of the late John and Julia Pencisin Bachinski. Mr. Bachinski was a 1940 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Brotherhood. He was a retired plant operator for Mon Valley Sewage Authority. Mr. Bachinski was a avid gardener and took much pride in doing so. He is survived by his son, John (Debbie) Bachinski III; his daughter, Doreen (Richard) Todaro; a granddaughter, Kelsey Bachinski; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nellie Stefanowicz Bachinski; two brothers, Michael and Tony Bachinski; and three sisters, Mary Melnick, Anna Bednar and Stella Wattermaker. Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, and from 9 to 10 a.m., time of the funeral service, Saturday June 15, 2019, in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 17 Reed Ave., Monessen. Entombment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Donora. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and all care givers for their excellent level of care.
