Walkoff sends EF to state final

Bri Sersevic is the first to admit she’s not much of a power hitter.

Instead of trying to hit the ball over the fence each time she steps to the plate out of the cleanup spot, the Elizabeth Forward sophomore is solely focused on getting on base and driving in runs.

“That’s my main job. I’m not a dinger hitter,” Sersevic said. “I’m a contact hitter and I just try to do my job and put it in play.”

Putting the ball in play is exactly what Sersevic did Tuesday afternoon as she collected a pair of RBI singles, including a walkoff knock in the eighth inning, to give the Warriors a 2-1 victory over Mt. Pleasant in the PIAA Class 4A semifinals at Seton Hill University.
