Monessen residents could see a property tax hike when school board members vote on a final budget June 18.
Board President Roberta Bergstedt said the proposed budget lists revenues and expenditures for the 2019-20 fiscal year at a balanced $16,139,672.
“That’s not set in stone,” she said. “We’ll see what happens in two weeks.”
District Business Manager Jeff Festor said, as it stands, millage rates may be increased to 81.07 mills, or 8.1 cents per every $100 of assessed real estate value.
“All other taxes are the same, except real estate,” Festor said, adding that the total increase is 2.66 mills — or about 3.4% — compared to last year’s budget.
