Consistency at the plate powered Frazier to the Commodores’ second ever win in a PIAA softball state tournament game in a 9-6 win over Marion Center on the campus of Mount Aloysius on Monday.
Frazier scored three runs in the first inning to take a commanding lead, a response the Commodores were seeking after getting hit early and often in the WPIAL championship loss to Laurel last Friday.
“This was a really big difference between playing against Laurel in the WPIAL championship game and we adjusted well. We are really pushing to make it to that state championship game,” said shortstop Kathryn Barch, who went 2 for 3 with a triple, double and a walk, also scoring three times.
The Commodores plated a runner in both the second and third innings, adding a pair in the fifth and seventh.
