Hixenbaugh to resign as BVA coach

Belle Vernon Area head coach Daryl Hixenbaugh will tender his resignation this morning.
Following Wednesday’s 5-0 loss to Beaver in the first round of the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs, the veteran skipper announced he expected to file his letter of resignation today. Hixenbaugh said he informed members of the team after the game.
Hixenbaugh has spent the last six seasons as head coach of the Leopards. He also served seven years at BVA during a previous stint. He has more than 50 years of coaching experience with stops at Charleroi, Baldwin, Kiski Area and Garrett Community College in McHenry, Md.
