Serra Catholic faces unknown Fort Cherry

Earning the No. 2 seed in the WPIAL playoffs isn’t enough when it comes to Serra Catholic baseball.
There’s nothing more this year’s squad wants than to hoist a WPIAL championship trophy, especially after the Eagles fell in last year’s title game.
The mission officially begins Thursday as the Eagles will face No. 15 Fort Cherry (9-9) at Boyce-Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair Township.
“I really know nothing about them,” Eagles head coach Brian Dzurenda said. “I heard they have a kid that throws hard. And that they’re a big team with some good-sized players.”
