Tube City Writers planning first session in McKeesport

The City of McKeesport has a rich history, according to Point Park University’s Martha Rial.

And she says the history of the Tube City can be captured through the stories and memories of its residents.

That’s why she, the university’s Center for Media Innovation and guest facilitator Dr. Nicole Peeler are holding the inaugural session of the Tube City Writers group from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

“Our main goal is to bring community members together to hone their writing skills while sharing stories,” Rial said. “But we have other goals too, such as making new friends and learning more about the people who make McKeesport unique.
