After leading the California football team to three playoff appearances and a pair of conference titles over the last four years, head coach Darrin Dillow has resigned.
The California Area School Board accepted his resignation during Thursday’s board meeting.
Dillow’s decision to resign stems from a rough three years. He dealt with the death of his father in 2017 and the deaths of his mother and sister in February.
“Looking back on that, it’s been hard and it just wears on you,” Dillow said. “I need to spend time with my sister’s kids and help my brother-in-law out because he works full time and I’m off in the summer. I’m figuring out a way to help him out as much as I can when I’m off.
