Virginia R. Little, 83 of Donora, formerly of West Elizabeth and Elrama, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Born in West Elizabeth on Oct. 10, 1935, Virginia was a daughter of the late Rudolf and Gladys Mitchell Falkenberg. A graduate of the Shadyside School of Nursing, Mrs. Little worked for many years as an LPN at the Central Medical Pavilion, VA Hospital in Pittsburgh and the Baldwin Health Center, from where she retired in 2010. She presently and proudly maintained her nursing license to this day. Mrs. Little was a longtime member of the Wesleyan Church in Elizabeth. She loved spending time with her family, who meant the world to her. Virginia loved cooking, shopping and most of all traveling, especially to the beach. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her dog, “Scooby,” who was her faithful companion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Little Jr., in 1984; two sisters, Isabella Johnson and Martha Falkenberg; a step-daughter, Patricia Little Walker; and a grandson, James Stewart. She is survived by six children, Kim (El) Thomas of Donora, Veronica Gilchrist of Rostraver Township, Cheryl (David) Atkinson of Donora, Nadine (James S.) Stewart of Carroll Township, Brenda (Stephen) Fronzaglio of Washington, Pa., and Harry W. Little III of Donora; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Bradley, Brian, Melissa, Jennifer, Jacob, Sean, Aaron, Ralph, Kristen and Freddy; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second Street Extension, Carroll Township, Donora PA 15033, 724-379-6900; where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019. A service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, with Pastor Larry Coltura officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Virginia’s name to the Washington County Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty-Four, PA 15330.
