Mary E. Dombrowsky – New Eagle

Mary E. Dombrowsky, 93, of New Eagle, died Monday, April 22, 2019, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1925, in North Charleroi, the daughter of James Oliver and Helen Flenniken Levy. Mary was a graduate of Charleroi High School and the Douglas School of Business in Monessen. She worked for a brief time as a secretary at the former Charleroi Monessen Hospital through the Department of Health. Mary was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, former treasurer of the G of F Class and years ago was on the church’s bowling league. Mary loved spending time with her family and her animals. She enjoyed playing piano, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with the neighborhood ladies card club.​ She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Barkby and husband Brian and Linda Buffa and husband Ralph, all of New Eagle; two grandchildren, Laura Stopka and husband Michael and Scott Barkby and wife Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, Dominic, Donovin and Delanie Stopka and Norina Barkby; and a brother, James C. Levy of Belle Vernon.​ In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dombrowsky Jr., who died Sept. 14, 2003; a granddaughter, Julie Lynn Buffa; and a sister, Sarah Hamer.​ Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019, with the Rev. Bruce Moses officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. ​Contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Riverview Baptist Church, 405 Main St., New Eagle, PA 15067.
