Eckels’ walkoff leads Cougars past Scotties, 3-2

The Charleroi Cougars are bruised, battered and shorthanded.

But one thing they are not is giving up on the season.

After blowing a 2-0 lead late in a Section 3-3A battle against Southmoreland Wednesday afternoon, the Cougars ended up winning a key game, 3-2, in eight innings at Vets Field.

Charleroi (4-5, 2-3) won the game on Andrew Eckels’ two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.
