Gladiators rally past Ironmen

South Allegheny’s softball team survived a scare at rival Steel Valley Tuesday.

But the Gladiators hung tough and overcame a 4-1 deficit to rally past the Ironmen, 6-4, in Section 3-3A.

The Gladiators’ Cortney Woytovich was cruising early, not allowing a hit through the first two innings and only allowing three base runners during that stretch.

She had five strikeouts and ran into trouble in the fourth.

South Allegheny (11-1, 5-1) got a run on Sydney Kirkwood’s RBI double in the top of the third, but the Ironmen put up their crooked number in the bottom half of the inning.
