Bunola River Road reopens to traffic after landslide

Bunola River Road in Forward Township reopened to traffic Thursday after crews finished clearing debris and downed trees spurred by a landslide, PennDOT officials said.
Crews had shut down access to the road in both directions between Pangburn Hollow and Raccoon Run roads Monday.
PennDOT workers cleared the road and utility workers made repairs on power lines that had been damaged by trees, PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said.
Dozens of landslides were reported in recent weeks in Western Pennsylvania. There were hundreds of landslides last year following record-setting precipitation. Officials are bracing for more landslides and flooding damage this spring.
