Pete “Petey” Como, age 55, of Christy Park, died Feb. 22, 2019, at home. Born May 3, 1963, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Luigi and Ida (Toppi) Como. Pete was Owner and Operator of P.J.’s Bar of McKeesport. He formerly worked as a welder for Vegely Welding of Duquesne. He was a member of the St. Patrick Church and the Palenese League of America. Pete’s passion was music, in his early years he played lead guitar in the band Excalibur and as of late he played in the band Fall Risk. He is survived by his siblings, Assunta Tyskiewicz of McKeesport, attorney Joseph P. (Janet Toner) Como of McKeesport and Antonietta (Walt) Wdowiak of Mars, Pa., he will always be remembered as, “Our little brother with a giant heart!”; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Bob) Scherrer, Joe Tyskiewicz, Susan (Doug) Trabandt, Sean Wdowiak, Rachel (Nathan) Herring, Nathan Wdowiak and Jeremy Wdowiak; great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Max, Stella, Grace, Lewis, Molly, Maebel and Leo; aunt, Lena Caione of Glassport. Family and friends will be received at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Parish. Committal will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Carnegie Library, 1507 Library St., McKeesport, PA 15132 or Diabetes Association of America, 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
